I enjoy out of season meetings, they are a welcome reminder that our wee sport even exists in the midst of winter when I’m otherwise working on various other projects. The 2 Litre National Bangers team event has provided some great action in recent years and this year was no exception. The bangers provided some great entertainment, with (148) of the Assassins putting in possibly the hit of the day on Bobo of team Buckle in the second heat. The ProStocks and the Lightning rooms both included some visitors from Aghadowey amongst the regulars. I think it’s great to see these cars racing together and boosting the car numbers, although I’m not sure Lightning Rod drivers racing for points will share that sentiment. The 2 Litre Hot Rods provided some great racing as well, bunched packs of cars always make for fantastic racing.
