Due to work commitments, I hadn’t expected to have got to this meeting, I’m now writing this on Tuesday night and after 2 days of a horror show in work, perhaps in hindsight I should have settled for the DVD and worked on. Anyway, seemingly I missed most of the action, the practice and the opening Lightning rod race, which was the only race I missed seen 1 car upside down and 2 on their side. I missed nearly as much racing as I seen, for running here there and everywhere, or trying to get fed. In terms of a report therefore I’ll stick to what I know. Fellow Carrick man, former Badminton opponent at school, Gary Beggs won the second Lightning Rod heat, which I watched mostly from the cue for my dinner, Jack Gilpin won an eventful Junior Production Irish Championship, Shane Murray won the 2Litre Wash ‘n’ Dash Championship, the Lightning Rod final went to Francis Rafferty while the Group 2 final went to Mark Turtle on their Tullyroan Oval debut.
