2012 - #45 - TVR Lochgelly - 4/11/12 |
The second meeting of my trip to Scotland, my second visit to Lochgelly this season and the second meeting in as many days at the venue. It was quite re-assuring to be charged £10 per person in, which in case the maths lets you down is one third cheaper than the Cowdie gate price for a meeting of a similar stature, and that is with no fancy offers on, and as an added bonus I did manage to get a burger this time.
Ryan Abernethy was already back on the trailer when I arrived and Thomas Agnew didn’t appear to have a car about, so cheering on the NI guys was quickly knocked on the head.
The Superstox and 1300 bangers provided the best of the entertainment throughout the day, with the National Bangers providing some heavy hits. Also on the bill was the ProStocks which I think only managed about a dozen cars which was a little disappointing. I also seen the CC Rods class for the first time which seemed just like non contact ProStocks, only with nearly as much contact as there was in the ProStocks.
A risky decision I thought, but the meeting ended with a firework display, for those who haven’t been to Lochgelly, it has no floodlights, so there needed to be some great timing to put fireworks on in the dark, but racing on in the light, which meant the last banger race was pretty much in darkness.
Later on Sunday night when I was starting to thaw out again, I seen that Lochgelly will be running Friday nights from next season, which I was a bit disappointed by because it now makes it quite impractical for me to get to future meetings, but I’m sure the new promotion has based the decision on greater factors than me going over once or twice a season.
Again here are a few pit shots and photos from the wrong side of the fence.
