Tullyroan Oval Practice Day 1 |
It was my intention to go to Bishopscourt for the second round of the NI Rally championship and in turn I’d have missed the Tullyroan practice day, that was a “weather permitting” plan though and the weather turned out to be down right miserable, so Bishopscourt isn’t the most hospitable of places when it’s chucking it down. I decided therefore to head to Tullyroan in the hope that there might be some breaks in the rain and I’d get a few shots.
It’s fair to say I arrived with some ill-conceived concepts which all turned out to be wrong.
- Firstly, there would be breaks in the rain….. wrong. - Secondly practice days offers a great opportunity to try different angles and get some great shots….. half wrong, it’s was too cold and wet to get terribly enthusiastic about what I was doing and getting any sort of shot and getting back into the car seemed a better plan.
- Thirdly and the one I was probably most wrong about, I expected the Ninja karts to be dull, boring, too slow and too small to be of any interest to me….. I couldn’t have been more wrong, they were great and I’m now looking forward to seeing full fields of them out on track and I think once the youngsters get the feel of them they will provide some great racing.
Anyway, here are a few pics from practice day.
