Tullyroan Season Begins |
On Saturday 5th of April the Tullyroan season kicked off, following a night after the first meeting of the year at Ballymena. The local oval racing season seems to kick off and go through the gears very quickly, one week there is no racing and before you know it there’ll be 3 meetings a week to choose from, it’s all a bit of a baptism of fire.
For the opening meeting of the season I was on video duties which means the video isn’t up to it’s normal standard and the photos were taken with the video camera, meaning they aren’t quite up there either, all the same I managed to get everything covered to some degree.
The evening offered up a mixed bag of weather, with a few spits of rain before racing commenced, followed by some dry races before it got wet and miserable for the second half of the meeting.
Joel Richardson was the big winner on the night by taking all three race wins in the 2 Litre Hot Rods. In the other finals there was a win for Gary Beggs (Lightning Rods), Micky McFall (Stock Rods), Jeff Minish (Superstox), who crossed the line while performing a 360 pirouette, and Keir Millar (Ninja Karts).
