Hughes Wins Tooz at Ballymena |
Going into this weekend I think I’d been to Lochgelly as many times as I’d been to Ballymena. As much as I’d like to go to every stockcar meeting it’s too much to try doing 3 meetings a weekend, week after week, it was once something I’d have done a few times a season around Speedweekends, but now it seems most weekend’s the option is there to do three meetings and it’s just too much.
I knew going into the weekend that I will probably do either/ or of the Ballymena meetings, and at the time of writing this on Saturday lunchtime, I’ve still 101 other things that I need to get done today and it looks increasingly unlikely that I’ll be at the Saturday night meeting, although on paper I think it looks the stronger of the two meetings and I've my camera batteries on charge in hope.
It’s hard to believe that this was only the third time this season I’d seen the F2’s and they were the stars of the show. Heat one went to Conor Hughes, Gavin Fegan took heat two, Hughes doubled his tally for the night by winning the final, while all eyes were on the battle between Fegan McConnell and Kincaid who were dicing for second and third, with Kincaid and McConnell eventually taking the places. In the Grand National Kincaid took the win while Fegan and McConnell continued where they left off in the final.
Peter Stewart won the Juniors, Jonny Gillipsie won the Gp 2 and Philip Doherty won the EuroStocks
