Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010 |
In 2010 I got the chance to go to the Goodwood festival of speed. It’s an event that I’d seen snippets of on TV on many occasions and always looked like a great day out with plenty to see, but I honestly never expected to get to be able to fit it in around stockcar racing trips, so I’d never really paid much attention to the logistics of getting to it, or even when it was.
As it happens in 2010 it was do-able to take the practice day of the event in on the Friday before the Ipswich Spedeweekend, and so myself and Colin Adair went.
I’d recommend the event to any motorsport fan, it is a unique experience being able to get so close to such an array of fantastic machinery, there isn’t too many cars or bikes at it which you won’t recognise, from Formula 1 through the years to NASCAR, rallying, endurance, bikes, each car a piece of motorsport History.
Here are just a few of the photos I took at the event.
