2011 - #13 - Nuttscorner Oval 29/5/2011 |
After a weekend off to accommodate the North West 200 that wasn’t, and a change of date to accommodate the Champions League mis match, it was back to business as usual at Nuttscorner Oval.
I didn’t seem to offend anyone by wearing a Barcelona top, but I’ll try harder next time. I had considered buying the old hi-vis orange one off ebay, so I’d get away with it on the infield. I digress.
Back to the racing, a decent turn out of ProStocks for their King of Nuttscorner meeting with Thomas Agnew taking the win in the opening heat, it looked for most of the race as though William Stewart would have taken a comfortable win, but I assume he tangled with backmarkers and got taken out while leading, I had my back to it and didn’t see it, so I won’t speculate.
Ryan Stewart took the second heat and a comfortable win in the final, to retain the King of Nuttscorner title.
In the lightning rods there was an opening heat win for Andrew Percy, while Richard Stewart took the honours in an action packed heat two. Brendan McConnell rounded out the day with the win in the final.
It’s become the norm over the last few seasons that the big grids in the 2 Litre Hot Rods dish up some fantastic racing and this meeting didn’t disappoint, with 3 wide battles for the lead and cars running 4 wide at one stage, other than NASCAR where else would you get this sort of action?
Davy Clarke was on form throughout the afternoon, taking the final win and heat two, with Andrew Stewart the taking the spoils in the opening heat.
The Juniors have been a little down in numbers this season compared to recent years, but put on a lively display. Daniel Campbell took both the heat wins with Jordan Rochford taking the win in the final.
