2011 - #20 - Nuttscorner Oval 25/6/2011 |
It's hard to beleive we are already knocking on the door of Speedweekend season, and that this was my 20th meeting of the year.
Practice day provided a chance to play around with camera setting and different angles, before returning to the usual post for the racing.
The juniors productions contested their King of Nuttscorner, in which Derek McMillan took the honours. I don't want to take away from the rest of the junior racing, but the highlight I thought was Daniel Campbell demonstrating some excellent car control in heat two as he looked destined to have a big shunt on the home straight.
The Lightning Rods had a larger than normal grid, boosted by the return of Tony Loftus and Campbell Percy, it's great to see these guys back at Nuttscorner. Stuart Cochrane took a heat and the final, with Brendan McConnell taking heat two.
The 2 Litre's also had a larger grid than I would have expected a week before Ipswich, but as their world final looms large I'm sure everyone can do with the track time. Wayne McClure took both heats before Adam Heatrick took the honours in the final.
In the ProStocks there was another double winner in the shape of Ryan Abernethy, who took the opening heat and the final, with David Wright coming out on top in heat two.
