2011 - #26 - Nuttscorner Oval - 6/8/2011 |
After the dizzy heights of the speedweekend the first meeting back at nuttscorner felt a little subdued, but at least I got a clear run of traffic. My missing camera flash also turned up, in the bottom of my bag, complete with flat batteries. Shattered from a tractor run earlier in the day and complete with a busting headache it's fair to say I probably couldn't have seen it far enough.
In the lightning rods i was suprisied to see Brendan McConnell hadn't painted the chequers on the roof. Ben McKee took the final win in the lightning rods. Stephen Emerson, Ben McKee, Dane Ferry, Mervyn Emerson Aaron Stewart and Gary Beggs will be the Nuttscorner Oval representitives at Arena Essex for their world final later this month.
In the 2 litre hot rods it was good to see we still got over twenty cars, and good to see different drivers coming into the class. Petie Donnelly took the final win, closely followed home by Adam Hylands.
In the nationals Adam Maxwell took the final win after what looked a clever bit of driving to back Gary Woolsey into traffic early in the race. Unless i missed one somewhere, Adam was also the first local driver to race a new shape Tigra over here.
The Prostox too had good numbers, getting into the mid twenties. Robbie Diffin took the honours in the final. It's fair to say that Diffin hasn't had the greatest run of luck in the class, so it was good to see him take a final win.
Next stop for me, Northampton.
