2011 - #34 - Nuttscorner Oval - 10/9/2011
The final round of the Wash 'n' Dash Series for the 2 Litre Hot Rods, Round 5 of the NI World Series for the National Hot Rods, Lightning Rods and the small matter of the inaugural running of the ProStock British Championship.

The first Saturday night meeting at Nuttscorner Oval in over a month, and it kind of felt as though the autumn had crept up on us. Many people prefer night racing because of the atmosphere of the racing under lights, I'd agree from a spectator point of view it's a better spectacle. However, from a photographers points of view, night racing means the use of a flash at tracks like Nuttscorner where the floodlighting isn't great, with the use of a flash comes the problems of it bouncing off hi-viz jackets, car registration plates, hi-viz signwriting, the flat door panels on ProStocks and even the brake discs on Hot Rods if you catch them at the right angle, lets just call it more challenging than day light.

Thankfully it stayed dry, which was one huge plus.
There was good car numbers in all the classes and some great racing. The ProStocks had a 32 car field, and it was the 32 car that took the honours in the British final with David Morrison taking the win in an action packed final, after Ryan Abernethy and Billy Finnegan Jnr had shared the heats.

13 National Hot Rods were in action, with Keith Martin taking all 3 races, a pile up in the final seen the end of Stewart Doak, Glenn Bell and Thomas Dilly's chances.
The 2 Litre Hot Rods seen heat wins for Adam Hylands and Andy Cochrane, before Wayne Woolsey took the Wash N Dash series final.

Winston Wier took the honours in the Lightning Rods, which too had an action packed final, aided somewhat by an oil spillage into turn one which caught a lot of drivers out. Vince Litter had taken the opening heat with Ricky Shaw the winner of heat two.

It's hard to believe we are now into Irish Championship season from next week, where has the season gone?
